tUnE-yArDs @ Pitchfork Festival (7/19/14)
This was my second time seeing tUnE-yArDs since she added a full live band (undoubtedly to recreate the complex, experimental pop songs from her new album, Nicki Nack). While I miss watching Merrill single-handedly creating all the vocal and instrumental loops on the spot, she still has a manic, infectious energy and a robust catalogue of whimsical pop anthems like “Water Fountain”, “Gangsta” and “Wait For A Minute” that makes her live show an utter delight.
Setlist: Left Behind / Sink-O / Real Thing / Time of Dark / Hey Life / Gangsta / Powa / Wait for a Minute / Stop That Man / Bizness / Water Fountain
